Earlier this month I took part in Decorex International

"Making Spaces provides an extraordinary platform for skilled artisans to showcase their exceptional craftsmanship to the discerning visitors of Decorex. This unique feature allows our carefully selected makers to demonstrate the intricate processes behind their creations while offering hands-on experiences to our esteemed interior design community."

I showed my full catalogue of lighting pieces and more recent sculptural vessels.

high-end clients are increasingly seeking objects that carry the imprint of the maker’s hand, legible objects with narrative

I was truly humbled by all the wonderful comments. A common experience among the makers was the response from the interior design audience. Many designers were eager and intrigued to see the makers at the show, learn about their craft, and understand how bespoke work could enhance their own projects. I believe that in the luxury interior design world, high-end clients are increasingly seeking objects that carry the imprint of the maker’s hand, legible objects with narrative, imperfection, provenance and soul. Not flawless anonymous factory produced luxury.

Autumnal Plans

Decorex gave me the impetus to get back in the workshop, and I have come away incredibly motivated to have a productive winter in the workshop. I have a few speculative projects which I am really excited about come from the show and I am looking forward to continue to develop my own suclptural practice alongside these projects. and can't wait to check back in with new updates in the new year.

My temperament moves with the seasons, in summer I am outwards, a time for growth and adventure, meeting new people trying new things and dreaming. I was lucky enough to have a fantastic summer and spent a lot of time in nature and with friends and family.

As the autumn draws in the, and the days shorten, I find myself drawn to the studio, satisfied by the meditation of the workshop, content in my own company, and creativity.
